2021 is a fundamental historic milestone for Greece, marking 200 years since the outbreak of the Greek Revolution in 1821, which led to the creation of the modern Greek state in 1830. Celebrating the occasion a lot of Greek publishing houses published several books about the subject amongst which some for children.
This image is an ensemble of characters from a series of books that I illustrated during this celebration.
On the lower part of the image you can find some of the historical figures that triggered the outbreak of the revolution and also helped on a more intellectual level, as in the upper part you can see the most iconic heroes of the Greek struggle for independence.
